Dr. Munjuluri is an esteemed alumnus of Rutgers University, having majored in both genetics and English. Following his graduation, he showcased his dedication to education by teaching in a bilingual elementary classroom in Houston as part of the prestigious Teach For America initiative. Subsequently, he held the distinguished position of director of college counseling at Sacramento High School, California. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in guiding students through their college application process, resulting in their admission to top-tier institutions across the nation. His expertise earned him the honor of presenting at the National Association for College Admissions Counseling’s coveted annual conference.
With a decade of exemplary service in education, Dr. Munjuluri then pursued advanced medical studies in the renowned University of California, Berkeley-University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Joint Medical Program, which offers a combined MS/MD degree. Recognizing his potential and commitment, UCSF inducted him into their PRIME cohort, a select training track tailored for individuals passionate about serving underserved communities. He later contributed to the program by serving on its admissions committee. Currently, Dr. Munjuluri is shaping the future of mental health care as a resident in psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston. As a testament to his excellence, he was recently honored as the program’s Resident Teacher of the Year.
